Ciaran Mc Greal – Coach from Underage Teams up to Senior Teams

I have attended Cuckoo Hill over the past number of years in different guises, as a participant  and also a coach. What Tommie has created is a fantastic resource right on our doorstep. Cuckoo Hill brings a new dimension to fitness; it is fun, challenging and most of all enjoyable. As a participant Tommie constantly challenges you to achieve your best, however is brilliant at understanding your ability and identifying the appropriate exercises for you. Cuckoo Hill is set in natural surroundings away from the humdrum of a gym or just running constantly around a pitch.

Cuckoo Hill enhances all your muscles and gives you a comprehensive fitness workout. You learn how to run, how to be agile, how to build up core strength and doing all this through teamwork and fun. The array of obstacles are fantastic from running hills, to wading through water, crawling under nets, through tyres, climbing walls and speed races to name a few. As a participant I can truly recommend Cuckoo Hill as the best and most enjoyable place to getting fit.

As a mentor to teams, from Under 10 right up to Senior Players, the feedback has been fantastic. The true test of any fitness centre is the feedback. From having Under 10’s running through ice water on a freezing cold day and saying it was the best ever is a real endorsement. As it is all built around teamwork all the players really engaged and encouraged each other through the obstacles. Again, under the instruction of a qualified coach, the needs of each child were taken into account, from the fittest to the least fit child. All were made fully inclusive and each child participated at their own level. Educating children exercise through fun is vital and Cuckoo Hill will deliver that full experience.

Cuckoo Hill caters for the older teams also. Again feedback has been hugely positive. The time trials were delivered in an efficient and professional manner and again the experience of the instructors was critical in identifying certain challenges for specific players with certain injuries. Again the feedback was overwhelmingly positive and they highlighted the variation and the enjoyment from the sessions held in Cuckoo Hill.

 

In summary I couldn’t recommend Cuckoo Hill enough, whether you want to get fit yourself or wish to bring a team, from the youngest to the oldest. You will enjoy the experience and build up your strength and fitness levels in an environment which is fun and engaging and delivered by qualified instructors.
